Blogger Stylin' Home Tours | A Restoration House Interiors Style Christmas Living Room

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you are coming over from yesterday's tours you had a chance to see Kelly's place from A View Along the Way. She did such an amazing job with her place!

This year I have been on a major calm and neutral kick. If you remember my place from the holidays last year, there was a bit of color thrown in here and there but this year, I wanted creamy creams, browns and tans. It's not that I am afraid of color...I just think there is something about neutrals that makes a room warm and cozy...especially this time of year.  And that's exactly what I did!

So, let's begin the tour, shall we?
I actually won't talk much on this one. I'll just let surf through the pics and enjoy.
I did decide that I would only decorate our living room. We actually don't spend a ton of time in this space which is why I thought it would be the perfect space to make

Come on in!

I wanted the mantel to have a bit of rustic charm but of course stick with the neutral palette. I just kept adding stuff at the last minute and that bookpage banner was a pain in the you know what mostly because of our printer malfunctioning but my wonderfully awesome hubby made it happen. I am happy with the results!

So, the confession is that while I WISH I had these mad lettering skills, I do not. My friend Victoria does though. Doesn't she? I sent her a pic of what I wanted on this board and told her to add some laurels and BAM! this is what I got back. She does it all freehanded. Yup, no stencils or tracing. I think she is pretty amazing.

And I didn't setup the dining table but I figured if I did it would look a little something like this...
American. Rustic. And it doesn't get any better than red transferware. Unless, of course,  it's black transferware...yum.

I picked up this flatware set of service for 10 from a yard sale this summer. I couldn't believe the lady was getting rid of it but for the price I had to snatch them up. I didn't know when I would use them but I knew I would. They were made in the Philippines {which I thought was cool} and I'm still not sure what type of wood is on the handles but I think they are gorgeous!

The hubby thought the place needed  punch of red somewhere and thought my neutral infatuation was a bit extreme so this inspirational setting is just for him!

There were so many other things I wanted to do and share with you all but just didn't have the time.
I do hope you have enjoyed our holiday living room tour and don't forget to drop by Jenna's place over at SAS Interiors for more holiday inspiration!

And that cinnamon stick and greenery on that music wrapped present is genius. I have some cinnamon sticks downstairs from Fall decor that I'm going to bring up for my presents! That flatware is amazing, too...unbelievable score.
